i have had a sky + box for a few years with various i have just deleted all items from the planner including series link. yet it shows 60% free

any ideas

It might be worth tying a planner rebuild again. Switch off the box at the mains for a few minutes. Switch back on and wait a few more minutes before bringing the box out of standby. Press Services, 0, 0, 1, Select and then go to rebuild. Leave for 10 minutes and repeat a few times until it completes and the box restarts by it's self.
