Looks like he's going to be spending his 92nd birthday in hospital...
Hope all's well when he comes out, but I agree with Cali... something just tells me his final handshake might be a lot nearer than we would like to think...

They are saying a 2 week hospital stay for exploratory abdominal operation…..
The doctors must be confident he’s strong enough to take the surgery but concerned enough it needs to be carried out...

It has been a really busy 18 months for them both. He's had bouts of being ill and yet he still troops on. If you look up stoic in the dictionary it will have a picture of the Duke.
I hope he is feeling well in himself. |

Many of the Royals work very hard, and many (including the Queen) have served in the Armed Forces or support services (during WWII the Queen drove trucks as part of the Womens Auxiliary).
Apart from Edward, who's a bit of a soft lad, the rest have done loads for this country, even playboy Andy fought in the Falklands, using his Chopper as exocet-bait to protect Ships.
I dont know why people have to have a pop at the royals, many do loads for charities etc, and they bring in tons of tourist cash to boost the UK's economy. |

"Too cynical to ask if we get an extra bank holiday for the funeral?
not sure cynical is the rght word"
I am sure he is thinking what a lot of peoples first question was when margaret thatcher died... in fact was the first question in our office...
I think he would get a "royal ceremonial funeral"... which is the same as the queen mother and diana got.....
distinction between a state funeral and a royal ceremonial funeral is that a state funeral requires a motion or vote in Parliament. |
