Maybe she's seitched the handset ringer to 'off' but the base station ringer is still 'on'
Or maybe this is a cryptic thread which has nothing to do with phones and has succesfully sucked me in and made me look like a knob head ![](/icons/s/confused.gif) |

yup ,tell her to plug a ( normal ) phone in the master socket ,, she should then find out if its a line fault ( bt's) resposobility ,, or an equipment fault ( her ) responsobility ,,, god save the sosages

That being the case then, it could be a faulty phone in the house (try plugging another one in)
Does the phone in the house make outgoing calls ?
Otherwise it could be a fault on the internal wiring or even a fault on the BT cable into the house, both of which which would still allow you to hear a ringing signal on the originating line even though the subscribers line is not physically ringing.
1st things 1st though - try another phone in the socket.
