We all do this, dispite what anyone says, but do you find that a lot of people rate themselves far too highly? I've noticed on a couple of profiles (female) that they're looking for specifics, and being very handsome is a common one... Now that's not too bad, because you're not going to say you've got no standards, are you. But I've come across one or two saying they're looking for the elite... Now, to make a statement like that, you're going to have to be something special, yourself. Not one of these women I've seen have been anything more than a 6 out of ten.
I'm aware of the irony in this thread, and although I'm commenting on people's 'rating', I don't brand about that you have to be the best of the best for me to talk to you. Why not just have a profile outlining what your interests are like most people do?
At the end of the day, those profiles who only want the elite, well, we're all the elite in our own eyes, aren't we!
Sorry about the rant... |

Even the profiles saying they only want handsome...
That counts me out, I've been told that I'm more pretty than handsome. I still don't know what to make of that..... |

Slightly off topic but
Any profile that says we are very attractive, sexy, hot or any variations, is an immediate turn off and makes me stop reading any further.
What one person finds attractive, another may not.

I don't rate myself
I am what I am, I do more than ok in the world and at clubs so if someone doesn't take a fancy to me that's fine.
I think I stopped self obsessing when I was at school |

Exactly right... If we all liked the same things and had the same idea of perfection, the world would be a very boring place!
"10/10 for the socks "
It's a long story, but the long and short of it is, despite looking like I'm posing for the pic, I'm genuinely not ha ha!

It's human nature to rate yourself. And subconsciously, we all do it. We see people in everyday life and constantly compare ourselves, it's our animal instinct.
This isn't about somebody not taking a fancy to me, as you put it, it's about people thinking they're better than what they are. I'm ok with confidence, that's something good, but being cocky is a whole new ball game. |

I actually said and meant, taking a fancy to me. Not the op.
I don't really look at profiles & if I come across one that reads as over confident/arrogant (It's a fine line) then I just ignore it/them/him.
I genuinely don't rate myself, nor do I compare myself with anyone else. I'm comfy in my own skin, however, do not think I am gods gift.
I am what I am. I'm happy with what I am and I dont want rating ty |
