"Does anyone give up smoking because of the risk of cancer?"
About the same percentage of people who will give up oral sex I suspect.
At least it finally puts to bed the common misconception that oral sex is virtually risk free |

Good point there. I guess we all weigh up the risks then make a decision but personally Michael Douglas's situation will not make us change anything. |

He originally claimed it was because of an STD so not the act. Don't know bout it causing cancer but you can get infections such as oral thrush etc from what I've read.
I wouldn't give up the act, just make sure the guy has a condom on apart for long term partner who I know. |

Hpv is what can possibly cause cervical cancer. There are many strains of it the same as the common Cold. A few are linked to cervical cancer and genital warts but most aren't. Nearly every sexually active person will get an infection at some point but the body clears it up in most cases as with a cold.. What is suggested here is that giving oral to a lady with hpv could mean to get one of the risky strains in your mouth but as I understand stand ir your body should clear that in time too. I think the risks are minimal but if you did show early signs of mouth/throat cancer you'd know about it alot sooner than if it's buried in your cervix.
At the end of the day in this game we take risks all the time you just make an informed decision as to what you want to do. |
