And Love Song for a Vampire by Annie Lennox. I like Annie Lennox. 
Most of the Gladiator soundtrack, some of the Prince of Egypt soundtrack, and several songs by Dead Can Dance. |

It was Lisa Gerrad who sang some of the haunting numbers on Gladiator.... she has a stunning voice for that kind of work  |

Annie has an amazing voice......it prompted me to remember my favourite track.... 'don't let it bring you down'.... fabulous song..... |

also a karaoke fave.. yes i love singing sad haunting but beautiful songs.

Agreed ... Annie Lennox is great .... and for me, her version of (dare i say it?) the christmas song (gulp) God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, From her Christmas Cornicopia album.

I sang a song earlier on the 'Mr Blue sky' thread. I was hoping someone else would like 'song to the siren' - YouTube it and listen. It's an old Tim Buckley song but sung so well by Elizabeth Fraser from The Cocteau Twins.

Apocalyptica did a song with Ville Valo and Lauri Ylonen called "Bittersweet" (fans of Apocalyptica will already know how spine-chillingly amazing they are but for those who don't; they combine rock/metal with classical instruments).
I WAS a little d*unk the first time I heard it but it's definitely a very powerful song.

Can't beat that, I was lucky enough to see Evanescence last year and Amy Lee's voice has to be heard to be believed.

Amy Lee is a brilliant vocalist but I find Sharon Den Adel much more beautiful and I've seen both bands.
My Immortal is one of my favourite songs ever and will be my funeral song. It annoys me when people kill this song by singing it on karaoke unless they're REALLY good.

Saw him at Glastonbury before he died. That song sends shivers down my spine.
Try listening to 'Boston' by Augustana, especially if its the slow version. Same feeling |
