there are 2 answers to the question...

if we are talking "80's movie".. then I would take the breakfast club over pretty in pink!!! I know Controversial!!!

in fact.. i am going to more controversial... Ferris was underated... so was Adventures in babysitting!!!

if we are talking "best film made in the 80's"... then I am taking the empire strikes back!!!

It's earlier than the 80's but Once upon a Time in America is a good film.

I never really warmed to The Breakfast Club, undoubtedly it is a great 80's teen angst film but PIP, (and its mirror opposite....Some Kind Of Wonderful), for me, just epitomises the 80's with the have's and the have not's culture of that decade.

Adventures In Babysitting is my all time favourite

guilty pleasure and criminally under-rated.

My favourite comedy of the 80's is Johnny Dangerously starring Michael Keaton in a slapstick comedy set in the gangster era of 1930's Chicago.

Reply privately, Reply in forum +quote or View forums list

By (user no longer on site)  over a year ago

I'm about to say something controversial, but I stand by it....dirty dancing has got to be one of the WORST films ever made! Beyond cheesy, terrible dancing for the most part and swayze gives me the creeps! Can honestly say, I wish I'd never seen it!

Top and tailing the decade (both excellent but not sure id say best)

The Elephant Man (Though technically a 70's film as it was released in Jan 1980)

Goodfellas (Could be considered a 90's film but production started in 89)
