If you drive correctly then a mile is a mile.
If you wobble all over the bloody road then your going to travel further.
You must be one of those that wobbles all across the road so each journey covers more distance. |

Nope it is exactly 15 miles to my work from home there for 30 miles a day then calculate a five day week over the year 7,800 |

"using cycle paths does add a lot of distance to a journey .. we can get to bath on road in 10 mile but using cycle paths it is 22 mile but soo much nicer "

If you're riding a bike with deraillieur gears (which is anything 5 speed and upwards generally, if you back pedal too much you can jam the chain in the cage (the bit with the two idler wheels) and it can be a right bugger getting it out again. Learned through bitter experience with that one, and it cost me a new chain too as it bent one of the links...

That's cos on your bike you probably take a more scenic route like I used to when I used to cycle to and from work. Much nicer than sitting in the car too...
