Let it mellow;

If it's brown flush it down !

Whilst laudable, and saving water, especially as we'll have a hosepipe can after todays sunshine

Is this something you would do at home?

Just walked into the gents at work, and someone let it mellow

Not in a public loo! I do it at home though. Have done for years. I'm on a water meter and it makes a lot of difference.

If I was in my own place? Maybe!

Living in a shared house? Hell no!!!

And at work? If you're taking a piss - use a urinal! Otherwise you're taking THE piss!

I flush every other time. It can save up to 40%+ on water.

It's just a rhyme. It means you shouldn't flush every time.

My friend in Brisbane has had to do this for a long time. They have water restrictions there. She saves bathwater to flush the loo a lot of the time, and has a 4 minute timer on each of her showers - like an egg timer - to avoid spending too long in there. Her swimming pool is filled from her water tank which is fed by the guttering on her roof - collecting rainwater.

We should be thankful we don't have to do that too much here but we should still conserve what we can.

Arrrrgh Fox!!! Not flushing in public is awful!!!

I have a bit of a phobia when it comes to public toilets, they just freak me out.

Same as shower curtains in a hotel. If it touches my skin it just makes me feel dirty bleughh.

Hels - that's because people have been trying to save water in hotels by not fushing - and pissing in the shower instead!

I get my 3 kids to use the toilet in quick succession and flush once only once we're all done. Wouldn't let it mellow though as it would def stink up the house!

Do you take your own sheets? I've seen the state of some sheets in hotels - even AFTER they were apparently washed!

I'm not that bad yet! (Although I do take them when I go to a caravan even if they offer sheets)

I do check them before I get into bed though.

I'd be a wreck if I took sheets off and saw the state of the mattress.

I know what you mean! I've refused to stay in a hotel when I didn't like the hygiene. One in Italy I wouldn't have wished on my worst enemy. The owner was really pissed at us refusing (I was with my ex at the time) and kept going on in rapid Italian which neither of us could understand. I think he MAY have been a tad insulting and offensive but cannot be sure!
