Why would you describe yourself as such on your profile? Aren't we all attractive to some and not to others? We know we have have described ourselves as sexy but is a such a turn off for us when we see on someone's profile "we are very attractive and looking for the same".
What are your views on that?

No one is attractive to everyone but some people are attractive to a wider cross section than others.
Me ? I am happy knowing I am a niche market and would never describe myself as attractive. If others want to believe I am then all is well |

I've seen that before too. It does have an air of arrogance about it and I would never contact anyone who said it because one of their criteria is indefinable and I have no way of knowing if we meet it.
As with all profiles it tells you about the author and gives you a good idea if they're people you would want to meet. |

You describe yourself as having a _ovelybum
And indeed you do
Are you looking for an equally nice arse? |

Its the same as the ones that say 'only attractive people need apply'... How on earth does that work! Someone who is attractive to one may be the opposite to another! So how do reply to such a profile when you have no idea of what they find attractive? I tend to ignore them and move on. |

I describe myself as curvy, some probably would say fat as im abt 16 stone I think. Ive put on some weight since my last pic, gone to the belly and the boobs. Wouldnt describe myself as attractive, smacks of bigging yourself up I think. People will have their own opinion |

this.
Good grief, Bussy spoke some sense at last
I have seen "Only attractive couples/singles contact us" and that is up to them and does not bother me at all, and automatically makes me think these are the beautiful people I've heard of.
However, I'm still looking for the profile that says 'Only fat munters apply' |

Haha!! I'd never reply to an ad that asked for attractive people... when you put it like that it makes me cringe a bit. I don't think I'm unattractive but I'd never say that either! Haha... it's a minefield! |

We do find a difference between sexy and attractive and as for the" lovely"part of our profile name,it was suggested to us by friends

I don't think i've put ' attractive' on my profile
Personally I know I'm not everyones taste and wouldn't assume that anyone would think i was attractive
But I applaud people with the confidence to put it on though |

You see it in a lot of profiles. I think it's because we don't really know what to put in a profile.
Some people just don't know how to discribe themselves.

"I like the ones who say they are athletic with a belly hanging below their belt.
Been called very modest a few times by describing our body types as average "
I agree with that tho, your definitely not average. I used to have slim until someone told me I'm athletic and should change it.. I only jog and don't do weights so I don't really agree. |

I only go by what I find attractive - not what someone tells me about themselves or others. And, likewise, I would expect other people to do the same with me - especially if reading my veris. That's why, if I am interested in someone, I send a pic early on in our chats as they can make a decision whether or not they want to continue. |

Attraction is about personality too . If you instantly find a person physically unattractive then your never going to have a desire to get to know them better . Decent looks are only a starting point . |

When I see words such as attractive, sexy, hot, average, slim, curvy, hung VWE, busty etc. used by people to described themselves - whilst I totally respect their opinion of themselves and their right to describe themselves exactly how they see fit - I prefer to form my own opinion based on their picture content!!
In the majority of cases I tend to find myself either totally agreeing with them or laughing hysterically and considering referring them to their local branch of specsavers!!
And for those with no pictures at all - I find myself rapidly moving on to the next profile! |

Hmmm... I have a list of descriptives on my profile... I'm pretty sure that I'm all of those things and I don't have a problem saying them out loud. I do have a problem saying words like 'sexy' or 'attractive' because I think that's something for people looking in to decide for themselves. I know I'm irreverent and contrary, not always things other people pick up immediately. The things that they can see from photos or what I've written are their descriptives of me. That makes sense in my head. |

What if those people who have described themselves as attractive have also been told that by friends and therefore they've used it - is that any different to what you have done.
If people believe themselves to be attractive and put that on their profile then good for them. There is nothing wrong in believing in yourself. Its got nothing to do with anyone else and those who agree with the profile will choose to meet them.
I can't remember if my OH wrote attractive on ours, I don't ever read our profile and haven't changed it for 2 years, but I believe I am attractive. I'm not the most beautiful woman on here but Im not like the back end of a bus either, so attractive to me is an honest interpretation. I couldn't give a damn if others agree. Those who do will contact me. It's the same with every one of us.
And I don't believe either OP that you are modest and you describe yourself in the way you have cos others have suggested it. You believe it yourself, so why shouldn't others |

Theres a thin line between belief in oneself and disillusion (Tread carefully)- one man's food is another man's poison , beauty is in the eye of the beholder - what you may deem to be an attractive quality may be the exact reason someone reached for the block button.
There's some good for thought. |
