Kind of the polar opposite to my balding men thread, how come so few women go for the big haired look these days? Few things so reassuringly feminine as a lady with a full on mane  |

I think all women should go for the big hair,its sexy as. 
I find a lot of ladies when they get to a certain age seem to cut there locks off!!!Why??? Keep the locks alive ladies xxxxx |

You do get to an age where it looks too mutton dressed as lamb. I was told by a "friend" that I am too old and way too short to have such long, big hair.
I wear mine up and let it down for fun. It doesn't always look business-like to have big curly hair. |

Oh yes, I'm talking about the huge wavy perms the likes worn by ladies like Cher and Gloria Estefan, I'd just like to hold a lady like that in my arms and drape some of her hair over me, like 'come on gimme some of that!  before we kiss x |

I had short cropped hair for 20 years whenmy kids were growing up, now divorced & kids are grown went to a new look, now have a full main of thick (pain in the ass) long hair. xx |

I would love to have long thick hair, had mine cut into a bob a few years ago and with all the different colours ive had over the last few years its not in great condition... hence slow growing and thin! |

I have no choice, I just have crazy hair.
I get it straightened once in a while and although I love it straight it doesn't last, the slightest bit of humidity or a few sessions on the dance floor and its crazy again!  T

I have naturally curly hair and in the morning it's huge. I have to use a few products to keep it under control. It's shoulder length so not too long to keep under control.
I used to have my hair very short. It was ok but I prefer it now. I don't fight my hair anymore. It doesn't like being straight and sleek, I just go with it now |

The last time I had my hair cut was when Di, princess of Wales exploded onto the scene. It was the height of fashion to look like her.
I felt like a shorn lamb, hated it and voved never to cut it short again.
Now my hair has to be pulled out of the knicker elastic - when I wear knickers . . . . .

You see now ladies that's what I'm talking about, volume turned up to 10 all out explosive vibrant locks of lion-queenie goodness!
...and for the record I'm well aware that female lions don't actually have manes but I just thought it sounded sexy. |

When i was 16ish used to have long hair and would put lots of thin plats in it when damp, sleep on it over night and it the morning take them all out.. used to create masses of volume. |

I have curly hair so big hair unless i straighten....and its quite long...i remember someone back combing mine when i was a kid and my mum flipping out and threatening to cut it all off whilst rapping my head with the back of the brush |

Ive had every hair cut and colour going. Long now and always do big curly hair for a night out. One thing I hate is long straggly hair...on men or women! Makes me cringe and want to tell people to get their hair cut! |

I have now started going for the big hair look. Takes a good few hours to get the look though.
Hair dressers always do my hair straight with no body to it.
I do have naturally curly hair so have the same frizz problem as someone else said.
Saw a great thing on FB the other day. It went something along the lines of;
"Warning! Ladies please be aware do not use shampoo in the shower. I have been using a shampoo to get fuller body to my hair, and unfortunately it has also made my body (especially my arse) a lot fuller! So please take note and no more washing your hair in the shower"

They do indeed! For whatever reason as to why they haven't.
A good friend of mine lost her hair when she was 17 through stress and had some condition which made her pull out her hair. From when she was 20 she has had to wear specially made wigs. She is in her late 50's now and only a few people know about her wearing a wig as she feels ashamed about telling people even though I have told her to embrace it and maybe try new styles out  |

I've just started scrunch drying mine. I'm a little tired of blow drying it. Then having to go through it again with the straightener's.
I now walk about with the just got out of bed look. |

It's even worse if you're an old bloke like me with long hair ....but even though I am in management those scissors are kept away |
