This kind of relates to the guilty thread somewhat... With the murderer of April Jones being found guilty.. Now I believe that he is evil and/or very distrubed..
However my question is that do you believe that all criminal are "bad" people? |

Depends on the crime.
However, I used to know a few 'hard men' and they were lovely to me and most looked after me like a little sister/daughter.
Did I agree with some of the stuff they did? No.
Did I know of all the things they did? No!
I also have had dealings with career criminals, through my old job. Where all of them evil/horrible whatever you want to call them? No.
I believe in the majority it is all about the person.
In the less frequent cases (thank God) the likes of Bridger/Huntley/Hazel, I would class them as evil without a doubt. |

No - but let's reverse that question. Are all non-criminals 'good' people? |

Precisely what I think. So, we cannot assume that all criminals are 'bad' people. They may have done bad things but are they totally bad? I don't think so.
Just as people who do good things are not completely good.
The world does not work by dichotomies. |

no not all people are bad people it all depends on the crime that has been commited and the reason it was done. some one that killed someone in self defence isnt but some one that does it maliciously is or a skint parent that pinches a loaf of bread to feed his family isnt. plus it also depends on what you class as a criminal. |

What of the person who has committed murder? That person might have been a tender person to those around them in their personal life. They may have done shopping for an elderly neighbour and regularly given to charity.
Even Rudolf Hess - commandant at Auschwitz was known as a wonderful father and husband! |

I've got to say this... I'm not proud of it. But I'm caught up in the middle of something right now And looking a little spell behind bars soon not nice but hey ho Do the crime do the time But it doesn't make me bad... But I'll promise you one thing right now If I'm banged up in the same prison as him... I will fucking terrorise him |

" it also depends on what you class as a criminal.
Whether someone is a criminal is not open to interpretation, it is clearly defined in law.

Ok then I've got a criminal record off something stupid when I was 15 when I had a fight with someone on the way home from school. I know its still on there as just had a crb check done and it was still on there. So does that make me a criminal even though I was a child at the time |

No I think people have a choice which path they take. Ok some get into a drug habit that spirals into bad ways others greed makes them break the law. Others are influenced by online porn and more again choose to go down the wrong route but ultimately people have a choice if they break the law or not. |

No not all some are caught in the wrong place at the wrong time & have to do the wrong thing for possibly the right reason or as a matter of survival. It doesn't make them bad people.
On the other hand there are mad criminals, who are not necessarily bad, as their reality is essentially different from th majority. ...x |
