Actually yes, the film love it or hate it is a tribute to the (gonna struggle with spelling here bear with me) is a tribute to the resourcesfullness, spirit, injenuity and abilities of the men interned in Prison camps during the 2nd World War. the devices they made (camera's from spectacles and tin cans, wire cutters from bits of old metal etc) show just what can be done.

TITBIT -

During the 2nd World War Waddingtons, makers of the Monopoly game printed maps of the Prison Camp areas underneath the playing board and supplied them to troops in Red Cross Parcels (unbeknown to the Red Cross), on reciept Prisoners could peel back the playing surface and know where the local roads were and led to, local rail stations, rivers etc.
