Any one else watching this? I love seeing just how bad some of these people can be. Last night's episode was great - one team with a team leader with a total disregard for women and a sub manager that thought he was an idiot.
If these are the best British business can offer, we are all doomed, doomed, I say.
They do make great telly though!!! |

My concern is that these people are just picked for their shock factor, just picked to make good TV. This is ok for the entertainment value, but my worry is that young people that are getting into business will think this is the way to act and behave. |

There is that concern. Junior Apprentice often shows more maturity and business savvy. |

I didn't like how both of the women launched into the sexist accusations in last nights episode. I mean yes, he was a cocky guy but from I saw he didn't say much to warrant the slur against him. |

Thats because the makers would be slated if they made a bunch of kids look stupid. Its all about the way it is edited |

the thing is, that kind of attitude is actively encouraged by schools and universities that tell kids they are all great and that they'll step into high powered jobs without having to work at the bottom.
And the kind of people that believe it will always be around and are so egomaniacal that they want to appear on programmes like The Apprentice because they truly believe they are gifted!
Better to be flawed and know it than a total arse. What gets me is the stupid mistakes made every week by people who are supposedly brighter than the rest of us. |

"It is purely entertainment, I don't think the beeb are setting it up as some form of educational programme."
Problem is, people do watch these programs and think that is the way to behave in business. People learn for these shows even if its intention is not teach.
The show is put up as competition to find the best business person from a group of well qualified individuals. The people that are placed in the competition are said to be the best business hopefuls that there is to offer.
Most educated and business savvy people know that these people are not the best at business, these people are the best at keeping the rating up. These people would be just as suited going into the BB house. |

Who watches and thinks oh that's how to behave?! Most watch and think what a dick, or god they're annoying.
It's more promoting how not to behave because they get fired at the end.
The nice nerd inventor won previously. |
