I have a polo shirts that fits perfect on the upper body but hangs abit around the mid section. Need to taper it in slightly but havent got a clue

Anyone good at sewing on here and could advise?

Tbh if you haven't got a clue about sewing you'd just make a mess of it. Take them somewhere for alterations.

Why give yourself the headache? Just take it to be altered, it's relatively cheap nowadays.

Darts in the back will taper it in but have it done by a seamstress as polo shirts are made from stretchy material which can prove difficult for the amateur as I know to my cost

Search the locals or places like gumtree for a seamstress or advertise for one they could trim your shirts from armpit to waist in under half an hour easily so it won't be too expensive to get a better fit.

yeh i am big upper body and a small waist so alot of tee`s and polos hang and look shit

Quite easily done but you do need a sewing machine with an over-locker and trimmer. My mum has one but unfortunately she's making a christening robe just now so can't do them for you.
