i thinks it would be only fair to put TS in a separate section from TV's i am sure TS's would agree with me,as would TV like to be separate from CD.a TS is a transexual is far more convincing than a TV and aTV puts a lot more effort in than a guy who just wants to wear his wife's nickers on |

Cobblers. It's all subjective. I consider myself a TV. However because I'm to tall and the wrong build for a woman I'm not convincing, so others may class me as a CD.
As for all TS's being convincing, again thats utter cobblers. Yes the ones you see in porn, but your average run of the mill TS can suffer from the same size/build problems as me and not fall into your convincing category.
Hell, there's genetic women out there that look like men!
Just leave it be, worry about yourself and let other peoples eyes do the work filtering out those they want to meet. |

Busted!!!
Think I would agree though that TS should be a different category to TV/CD seeing as they are living as the opposite sex they actually are |

How about a "female" category for them? |

Fair comment, I'd personally have no problem with a post op TS categorising themselves as the sex they now are, in hindsight, was more commenting for those that still had the male/female bits |

The majority of this mirrored my initial thoughts when reading the op. Where we differ is in TS. They shouldn't be lumped in with CDs and TVs: they're female. |

Was just going to sau that about TS being female now. (Or male now.) |

I don't like the fact that the inference is that TVs are somehow better than a CD.
Means the same to us, sure some are better at it than others but that's about it.
TS of course are another category entirely and how far do you split those?
Pre or post op, m2f or f2m
Could end up with a hell of a lot of categories. |

What your post implies is that a transexual has to be a transexual for life and can never be accepted as the gender they have striven to become. |

Hi,, this is a tricky and, to some, a contentious subject. if you ask 10 transexuals for a definition of transexual you would get 10 different answers!
Firstly it is nothing whatsoever to do with being "convincing" (Whatever that means", I have met TVs who are extremely pretty and dress well,, i have come across TSs who do not "look the part".
I live and work full time in what I regard as my true gender, it says female on all my documents, and have done for 5 years, i had my corrective surgery last year.
When i joined this site I was pre-op and registered as TV/TS in the interest of honesty.
Since my surgery I have met a number of men and women on this site who have said that I could tell people i was female from birth (In a way I was !!!)and i know that if I asked the admin they would probably change my gender marker on this site,, but i would still feel this to be dishonest.
Am I wrong in feeling this way as I am not sure that I would favour a seperate section as I feel that may deprive me of the option to change my marker? |

So you feel like a woman, look like a woman, legally you are a woman, then you are a woman. I dont see why you have to tell everyone you are post op. In public you dont walk round with flyers stating that you have changed gender do you? So why do you have to advertise it on fab. |

I find the term post-op TS totally meaningless
The way I see it, is if you’ve undergone gender correction procedures you are “female” in my eyes and you are perfectly justified in having a female profile……
However if you wished to mention your journey of transformation in your profile text that would be entirely your choice and not a prerequisite…

Thank you for the above,,, what you are suggesting would be exactly what i would do.
However, it would be interesting to see how some of the men view this? I do know that some of the single men,, and male partners of couples, that i have met do not have a problem with me,, although some state that they would not meet a TV/TS.
Discuss?? xxx

Forgive my ignorance but what's the point of using the term "post op" if you're now a woman? |
