I do wish Joe had fought him, just to shut him up. He would have looked stupid against Calzaghe |

Same here! He wouldnt have knocked him out but he would have schooled him for 12 long hard painful rounds |

Best weights.....gone are the days of good heavyweight fighters."
Its such a shame, I loved the heavyweights. The Klitchskos have ruined the division. |

10 years of dull mechanical boxing. They are just big lumbering giants who do just enough to win. The problem is no exciting fighters coming through. Gone are the days of the big heavyweight fights. The last ones I got excited about were Tyson and Holyfield. |

Sadly Im too young. I have watched them on video, amazing fights.
My all time fav fighter was Hagler. The first fight I watched on Tv was Hagler/Minter. My love of boxing came from that fight |

Lewis
Bruno
haye are all boring fighters
Lewis was ok but go back to Ali etc to see real heavyweight fights.just ok hum
"
'Ok' was probably a disservice to Lennox Lewis. ....he was a good boxer during a time when there wasn't much opposition.
The sixties and seventies that I mentioned in the heavyweight division were full of great boxers....'Bonecrusher' Smith to add to the aforementioned. |

Lewis was mediocre. He would not have lived against the greats.
Brunt was likable, but never had the killer instinct or chin.
Haye should have stayed at Cruiserweight. He made himself look stupid against Klitchsko by blaming his little pinky |

2 amazing athletes showing what sport is all about. Well done both fighters and well done Froch on the victory. Neither boxer in Calzaghe's class but that is irrelevant. They both provided fantastic entertainment. |

Heavyweight got so bad, foreman came back at the age if 46,and won a world title.although to be honest,in his prime he was genius. |

lol Lennox was mediocre? The guy beat everyone (except 1 loss) in front of him and showed he was very talented.
Just because a certain era of boxing had the best heavyweights, doesnt mean those outside that era are mediocre.
Same with the Klitshkos. Theyve beaten everyone in front of them yet people still critisize them. Theyre giants and would put up good tests to many heavyweights. |

Lewis had 2 losses on his record.
He would have had a 3rd if Vitali Klitscko never got cut in their fight. Lewis was outclassed that night. There was going to be a rematch, but Lewis bottled it and hung up his gloves.
Yeah, he beat the other heavyweights around at the time, but you name one of them that was at the top of their game!? Tyson had long passed his best. His style would have torn Lewis apart. Lewis relied on his jab, and was never a warrior. In his prime, Tyson would have got under that and ripped him apart. Holyfield was past his best too. Holyfield is a fighter I truly respect, never a true heavyweight, but what he lacked in size in made up for in heart.
Yes, Lewis was mediocre. The Klitskos' are worse than mediocre. Its a shame that no heavyweights are coming through the division. In the past there were loads of Americans, but now they see American Football and basketball as being just as lucrative and they dont get their faces punched in the process.
You do have to look at the heavyweight division of the 70s to see what the excitement was all about. Ali, Frazier, Foreman and Norton knocking lumps out of each other.
