For me it's ps4 asi have sky wich is a DVR so why the hell will I pay Microsoft for the service as well also I have to pay to play 2nd hand games?? Wtf |

Well neither are backwards compatible specs seem pretty similar except for the fact preowned games issue on xbox I'll probably get 1 in a few years time when they turn of xbl for the 360 |

Definatly the xbox for so many reasons that i cant possibly list them all but here are a few
Xbox controller is just perfect! especially for fps
You can expect better releases(graphics + game play) for the xbox plus more exclusives fps release, cod, gow, LBP, Demonsouls for example.
Windows integrity
Xboxlive is more secure...yes you have to pay for it but what you pay is what you get  |

My PS3 has backwards compatibility with ps2 but I have never used it so I got no problem with that issue but the way Microsoft was talking its all about the US TV network would like to see how it works over here with sky/ virgin and get rid of ms points and do £ and free online like ps3 |

I was not very impressed with Microsoft trying to own people's tv usage as a whole lmao, this next console (having personally loved the 360) was supposed to be the next step... It's a frikking voice command remote for the television!!!!
Not happy, will wait and see what E3 had to offer  |

Xbox one for me though might get a ps4 eventually. After all of Sony's mess ups with the ps3 and psn I really have lost any faith in them. Yes psn is free but Xbox live is well worth the money. I have both consoles and I haven't played any games on the ps3 this year. Gran turismo 5 was a big let down and the online aspect of it was poor. My ps3 is mostly used as a Internet browser and blu ray player. Keeping it though as its the original 60gb version with backwards compatible and memory card slots |

I have to laugh @ people who moan about the Ones design. Do you really spend that much time looking at your current machines? No? Didn't think so.

I don't give a toss what they look like but for anyone saying why pay for Xbox live even play station do it for free it's because ps online gaming service is utter shite compared to Xbox live. It's just over £3 a month and you can usually get free months or half price and well worth it tbh. |

So far neither.
Backwards comp is a big deal cuz people have invested a lot more money this time round as this has been the longest console gen. You got games still coming when these new consoles come out so if you wanna play them, you gonna have to keep your current console for a while.
Not to forget all the XLB arcade games.
Your gonna have like 10-15 games out at launch, maybe 2-4 appeal to you, not gonna give you much to do til new games come out either.
The used game thing so far is dreadful.
Kinect always on, no thanks.
They keep saying how Xbox one will be the only box you need under your tv.
LIE, you gotta plug your cable/tv box into, the tiny 500GB harddrive which cant be removed by us when games have to be installed will soon run out of space so extra harddrive box plugged in.
Then the need to connect every 24hrs to the net.
Then if you want to still play your old games, you'll need your 360 there too and dont think all that stuff will fit with that huge thing. |

Many people moaned about backwards compatibility at the start of the previous generation...look how that turned out.
The industry moves on, it isn't that much of an issue when gamers can barely voice a coherent opinion with their wallets. |

Now that Microsoft has announced that Xbox One will not need to be online at all and you can give games to friends, trade in normally as before I am definitely getting an Xbox One. The PS4 tempted me, but to be honest I could never use its controller and having been on 360 for so long I too feel next step is Xbox One.

PS4 I think I will upgrade to for a change this time round .. I think Sony are going to dominate the next batch of consoles
The xbox one just seems abit shitty with what microsoft have been hinting at about used games, the license coding thing etc .. unless they do a massive u turn etc
I love my xbox 360 at moment but i quite a fancy a change up, but then I will be a geek and most likely buy both anyway .. one for living room and one for a bedroom _ |

They have done a u turn recently. And it was poised to usher in progress, especially in the realm of digital distribution. The problem was that their PR and communication of the initial benefits of Xbox One was shitty. In effect, they were mirroring what Steam has successfully been doing for a long time now.
In any case, they have caved in to consumer pressure for now. I highly doubt Sony will dominate next gen. When it comes down to it, MS have the key partnerships on multiplatform games, so will sell better in those areas. And they have heavily invested in first party studios to close the gap to Sony in terms of exclusives.
Should be interesting. I'm getting both myself. |

Yeah I want both, but I have to get Xbox One first. Titanfall, Ryse, Deadrising 3. I want to take the whole week off work when MS announce the consoles final UK release date. No way can I not be at home haha when this beast is out! |

Xbox One is currently the bestseller on Amazon for console preorders at the moment. I'm thinking middle of november for release of the console itself. They will try and tie it in with Call of Duty: ghosts release, as that is guaranteed to be a system mover for them. |

Yeah that would be good if it released with CoD Ghosts. I remember when the 360 launched, for some reason Condemned was out in the shops to buy weeks before the console itself!!! Hope that wont be the case with X1 |

PSN not going to be 'free' for much longer. PS4- £5 per month to play online. Xbox - £35-40 per year. Xbox all the way. A much better service. |

The ps4 is technically the superior machine and both the ps4 and xbox one are x86 based this time.so the xbox fanboys have nothing to come back with because spec wise the ps4 pisses all over the xbox one, faster processor, faster memory, superior bluray drive. yeah you can go on about forza but wait till you see driveclub on the ps4, and what is gt6 going to be like i wonder?
if you want to argue between the ps3 and the xbox 360 then the ps3 was lightyears ahead technically but it was cell processor based which made it expensive to develop for so it suffered with having games "converted" for it instead of being fully developed for it. beleive me, no one has seen what the ps3 is fully capable of yet. theres going to be a few swansong games as there was with the ps2 i expect that will blow people away |

I think the major issue with the PS3 is that games that have been designed for multiplatforms are restricted to the capability of the weaker system. The Xbox 360's DVD holds 7GB, the PS3 Blu Ray I think at launch was 25GB Discs, but developers only developed on a scale for the 7GB size limit. Multi-disc for the Xbox 360 didn't come until years later, but I have always felt that the PS3 was not taken to its full advantage because developers focussed on the idea of keeping games on both platforms the same, so the PS3 missed out by having to keep getting games that were identical to the 360's
Hope that makes sense lol. But PS3 exclusive games were always way up past 20GB+ in file size so can have more content, more textures etc. |

Depends I dont know much bout PS+ but dont you have to be a PS+ member to use those free games, once your membership runs out, you cant access those free games til you subscribe again.
Whereas Xboxlive finally do free games and you could use one of those free gold membership cards, download the game 4 free and it still works when the membership runs out.
As for the new kinect, its a lot better, you can less than a meter away now and it works fine, 6 people on screen at the same, wondering on and off without delay, works if you got the lights off and picks up the slightest movement.
MS did a 180 and are allowed offline play without 24hr checkin and used games allowed.
As for people moaning about the Family 10 sharing your entire game library, that would have never happened, that would have made the game developers loose so much more money than used games.
I'm not preordering this time anyway, we Brits barely ever get mentioned when it comes to these consoles, they show all these wonderful apps for the STATES only.
I will wait til I have finished all my games on my 360 before buying nextgen as its gonna be a few years before we see anything really impressive. |

Yes you need ps+ to play the free games but if you need ps+ the play online on the ps4 cant see why most people wouldnt have it. I got my ps+ in january sales for £25 and could have bought as many as i wanted to stack them |

MS is offering 2 free games every month with the new Xbox Live for Xbox One. So not really the vast difference anymore. |

To play online with playstation on os4 will be a paid service like XBL. Dunno what the price is but Sony announced it at E3. |
