ISAs and banking security

We have been opening an ISA with the Coventry Building Society which was recommended by Martin Lewis's website, what a ball ache with the security measures that online banking brings. I am all for protection, but this is a joke. We started the process back in April and its still not open. The reason being that we have not yet received all the 5 separate security letters that we need to even speak to feckers.

I hate going in to a bank, so it has to be online.

No real point to this thread than a frustrated rant against Coventry Building Society and their stupid fecking procedures. I think I'll just stick to my normal bank in future!

LOL - I did the same today with the Halifax - failed security over the phone (0845 - who knows how much that cost!), was told I couldn't do it in branch as it was an online account. I went into the branch regardless and all sorted in 2 mins. Got there in the end.

I work for a bank and consistantly fail the security questions for online banking.

Of course I don't know how much money I paid in on the 12/8/1996!

It is ridiculous. Country wanted a pin, a grid reference thing they had sent, a password and a fourth thing they had yet to send. By the time we got it all a new financial year would have started!
