I've had it done and it lasted about 2 weeks I wouldn't have it done regularly though as its a bugger to get off and can ruin your nails

Mines last a week, though use acetone which removes it easy enough.

All good till you try and remove it. Wrecks your nails. Took months to get back healthy where they didnt split. Never again.

If nails are healthy it shouldnt damage them if you only have it done once, as someone has said Acetone removes easily and a good quality hand and nail cream helps afterwards.

Hi ladies, I am a nail tech and use gels quite a lot, theres diff types on the market, some will soak of in acetone others will need buffing off, generally if theyre hand buffed off it will be kinder to the nails.(not electric)The gel colours I do last my clients from 2 to 3 weeks. I would strees that any chemical product that goes on nails will eventually cause softening of the nail plate. make sure you have a break from treatments and use plenty of nourishing cuticle oils while wearing products..hope this helps...xx

They were healthy. They split and flaked. Had to let them grow right out and kept them short.

Theres loads on the market most will have vitamin enriching properties..however its partly down to massaging into the cuticle area which stimulates the cells, enhances growth and feeds the nail..i tend to say to my clients ..save your money and use a good olive oil (out the kitchen cuboard)rub in twice daily. and have a good balanced diet..nails & hair react similarily..so if your hair is going thro a breaking period then you usually find your nails do to..as a guide if hair is splitting then nails will have also have a problem growing (both hold keratin) hope this helps..x

medication also has effect..i find ladies on hormone treatments either find nails go exceptionally brittle, and pregnant ladies nails go very oily..check any medications that your on..worth bearing in mind before nail extensions etc. x

Shellac is also used to wax lemons. Make of that what you will!
