There is a track on the new Daft Punk album which samples an interview with Giorgio Moroder ( really really good track )
Made me remember what a pioneer he was ! Forget the pop songs you know he did he really pioneered a lot of electronic music top bloke !! |

Moroder = legend
If it wasn't for people like him I don't think electronic dance music would be what it is today...
Love a lot of the early 80's synth driven arpeggated music... "chase" being an obvious one.. |

Only heard one tune off Daft Punk and it was good but like a lot of today's music a bit overproduced...
Really wanna give it a proper listen though, they are still pretty great.
Another legend of synth driven stuff for me is Jan Hammer! |

It's not just a sample he's a full blown collaborator on the album. Love the Scarface soundtrack!
Never been a massive Daft Punk fan, I like a few tracks and they were awesome when I saw them at the Wireless Festival in 2007. This album is getting torn to shreds though, the general consensus is that it's middle aged men reverting to soft rock.
Time for the comfy slippers and the painting of a Spitfire I think |
