Bottom of the pile is the foundations holding everything else up. It'll all crumble without the foundations. Of course you're important

I have always had the utmost respect for cleaners and cleaning staff - they do a hard job on shite pay and are often ignored and abused.

They are also the ones that can polish your desk with the clean cloth or the toilet cloth....

I did some cleaning years ago to save the extra money for a holiday. and my god...what some people expect for their money ......

dirty used tampons left lying on the floor by a woman who thought she was above everyone else....disgusting woman.

One bedroom floor in another house looked like it was covered in crisps.....it was dead skin

And we were expect to clean it regardless of the health issues....i refused point blank...

Im always amazed what people expect cleaners to do for so little money.

so kudos to all cleaners

Whenever I work somewhere I'm always extra nice to the cleaners and the security guys as they're the people who go everywhere, hear whats going on, know who does what and who knows what and generally know how the company tick.

Thats on top of keeping everywhere safe and clean

There's a lot more rubbish at the top of the pile than at the bottom, be proud of what you do at least we can see what you have done and very hard to cover up!

I`m a cleaner too and it's shocking how some people live, I hate to say it, but for me the people with money are worse than anyone else I clean for. It's a thankless task too most if the time, we should get more credit, it's blooming hard work.

Well I work in the public sector and it was bad enough before the government imposed all the cuts on local authorities. Now it's a whole lot worse as people expect a lot more for less money so the verbal abuse to the sweepers and bin lads is awful

My cleaner is treated with respect. Mine and my families life would be a lot harder without her help. I always offer a drink as soon as she gets here, she is a really kind lady that makes a difference in my life. Anyone who does not respect anyone that works it more than not likely to be not worth bothering about.

I was always told that when staying hotels, never leave your toothbrush in the bathroom, because if you do anything to piss the cleaners off (even if not deliberate) then the toilet would be cleaned in a certain way

I always respect the cleaning staff, they do a hard job that a lot of people forget about. I know someone with a cleaning company and they have said that they wouldnt live in some of the houses they clean because they are so dirty - and these are large houses owned by wealthy people.

I used to have a good laugh with the cleaners when I work as a security officer, and I am polite and friendly to hotel cleaners.

I know there are some who sadly think that way about people.

I have a great laugh with the cleaner at work, she has a brilliant sense of humor and she is treated as part of the team.

I always leave a generous tip for the cleaner on holiday as well.

Im a senior care worker in a residential home and it has always baffled me that our domestics are paid over 3 pound an hour less than us. Totally unfair

I used to clean an a&e. I loved it. Only left because I needed better pay and promotion opportunities. If I had the same pay id go back tomorrow!

Does your job define you as a person? Of course not.

My cleaner is a teacher and gets £10/hour cash and a coffee to boot!

What ever job anyone does is as important as ie. a doctor, surgeon, teacher and any other job you can name, every job is a service, and if there was no need for that service there would not be a job, I applaud any person that is will undertake any job they choose to, and only wish ppl will accept them for the person they are rather then the job they do
