Over the rainbow, under the bridge

Just had a text from my daughter - she has just been made redundant. Completely out of the blue! This is the second time and she's only 31. Luckily last time she got another job straight away. This time she may not be so lucky with the job market the way it is. She's also just moved in to a bigger flat so, if she has to claim, she will be hit by this new bedroom tax!

Life is so tough at times!

Over the rainbow, under the bridge

She has worked full time since the age of 16 and has been working towards her OU degree. She has a lot of drive, is not afraid of hardwork - just seems very unfair.

She lost her last job at British Gas when they closed down her department and sent all the jobs to India.

I'm hoping so - last time she finished on the Friday and had a job already set up for the Monday - but the job market is somewhat different now.

She has till the end of July though, so fingers crossed.

She's only just moved in to this flat too, and done a load of decorating. She won't be able to afford to move again to avoid the bedroom tax!
