Just been on a popular website and seen loads of adverts offering free haicuts..
Most of them are Top Salons with trainees that need to practice and pass grades etc..
Has anyone out there ever used these offers of free haircuts ???
and - Did you not feel obliged to a least leave a tip or something ???
Any Good or Bad Stories ??

I used to have my hair done at the training salon in a FE College. The trainees are supervised every step of the way by their teacher or a long time qualified professional hairdresser. I takes ages because they're learning and at the college they would charge a nominal fee to cover materials etc. I'd say it well worth it if you have time to spare and I'd definitely leave a tip even if they do charge a little because apprentices earn very little. |

No they won't it is usually all above board, the apprentices need to do certain things for assessments. I know someone very well who is doing a beauty course and lucky old me is the guinea pig for all her assessments so I get manicures, facials, waxing, eyebrow and lash tints, pedicures and she's grateful to me!
If you want it done ring one of teh salons and ask them about it and if there are any hidden costs, if they're genuine they'll be happy to answer your questions  |

When we where at school most of the salons used to have a training night. We used to go regularly to be models and let them exp experiment on us. Most of the colleges do hair really cheaply just so they can gain experience |

Iv tried.. hunting online for some colleges - and for about the last hour or so i think i might have nearly signed up to about 3 colleges !!  |

If the hair is difficult to cut well, then don't do it, as it will end in tears!
Mine is very straight, and strong, and have a double crown, and very difficult to cut well.
Hence I have only had 3 permanent hairdressers since 1989!

already like the sound of the WAXING Course - but the Hollywood and the Brazilian course are confussing as they sound so similar !! |
