Who is 'safer'?

I'd say B. There's not cure for HIV/Aids and a couple of other STD's. So testing is moot if you catch it from a bareback meet.
At least those who use a condom are actively reducing their risks of catching something nasty and passing it on to someone else. |

Nasties can take a few months to show up on a test, especially in the case of HIV. So I guess, theoretically, if someone had sex bareback and then waited six months to get the all clear before fucking anyone else, they'd be as safe as someone who uses condoms. However, people are not like that in reality. Condoms are an important part of sex for me, as is regular testing. Neither option is particularly safe. Even condoms do not offer a cast iron guarantee you will not contract anything unpleasant. |

Honestly don't know...prevention is better than cure, but if you never get tested then you'll never know you need to be cured. Guess the latter is more naive in assuming condoms will keep them safe and they don't need to be tested so think I'm leaning towards the person having tests being safer as they won't continue to infect others for the same length of time after infection? |

How regular are you expecting people to get tested if your going bareback, it only takes one infected person just after they have been tested to pass it on and then they may not get tested for another couple of months. Condom for me, at least it gives you some protection, when my partner and I were last tested we were also given Hep B injection which we were told is also good protection if your swinging but its not always offered. |

But I wasn't saying one was safer, it was more to get people's opinions. I'm with Goldicocks- I'm leaning towards the bareback with testing being slightly 'safer'. But clearly still not safe. As per Soxy's comment. |

Not even just in group situations...in a 1-2-1 meet hands wander and will therefore carry risks. Plus how many of us use condoms for oral...yes the risk is lower but it's still there. I have read more than once about people who haven't been for testing 'because they don't need to'...scary how many think condoms make them untouchable when it comes to their sexual health, or assume if there are no symptoms then all must be fine  |

Great thread and what a dilemma to answer! I was trying to reason safety on another thread to do with bi guys.
But yes, if you have sex you are at risk straight away - fact - even if you use condoms.
But the NHS use statistics to calculate the risks they are prepared to take with people ie giving blood. The scenarios you have asked OP is not given by the Blood Service. I think though if they did, they would probably say the people going bareback were still most as risk.
All rather interesting and thought provoking though  |

Hell if I got tested after every encounter I would be the ruin of the NHS! Haha
Sayin that I use condoms but do get tested regular as does my partner, that way half the tests same result as obviously we do bareback |

B - even if you get tested you could, potentially, be able to infect someone before you have a test or are waiting for results. All sexual health professionals would most likely agree. |

It depends on how regularly the person is getting checked. Once a month, twice a year? To not get tested at all is just as irresponsible considering STIs can be passed orally so it's a dangerous assumption to think you haven't contracted anything.
Going to say B though because as the old saying goes "prevention is better than cure" and some things have no cure.

I think I'd say the whole thing about safe sex with condoms is it is designed primarily for intercourse (a cock going in a fanny or arse)
there are many women who play 'unsafe'..many people that play 'unsafe' just with oral sex

B is always going to make you feel safer but does not guarantee anything. Sex is a risky business. People lie to each other and to themselves about their sexual health. Arguably the safest person is someone who knows they have a problem and plays responsibly.
Condoms are no guarantee against STDs. |
