Not going back too far, I would have stopped the guy pulling the trigger and assassinating Arch Duke Ferdinand in Sarajevo in 1914. The last hundred years have been shaped by that one, single act.. and millions have died as a result. |

Nobody ever seemed to figure out that the best way to avoid a dalek was to go upstairs |

But all of these have repercussions.
As far as Diana is concerned Camilla would not be as popular now.
Same for Paul mcCartney if Lennon was still alive.
As for Titanic , there'd be no 4 hour film to watch at Christmas and Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio would not be so well off |

Yes, the repercussions of that one act were earth shattering for years.
No WW1 so no WW2 or Bolshevik revolution, no Hitler or Stalin, no Holocaust so by default no state of Israel, maybe the Ottoman empire would have survived and kept a lid on islamic extremism. No need for the EU. and the cold war would have been an argument about central heating, the list could go on forever.
On the other side of the coin however, Kaiser Bill was spoiling for a fight so if that incident had not been the catalyst something else would have been with different timing and maybe a different (for better or worse) result.
Interesting one.

"I'd try to stop Hitler's dad meeting his mum
"
Funny one that.
Going on from the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, there would have been no WW1 so no treaty of Versailles, no Wiemar republic so Hitler would only be in the news today because one of his paintings just sold for 10 million at Sotheby's. I doubt it though, his painting were pretty crap. But then again? |
