Just found out from my mum that my nan has cancer (again). She's been through so much over the last five years, she had part of her lung removed through cancer, shes also had cancer of the bladder which is where she has it again. Mum said they told her she also has a tumour possibly on her kidney. I just wanna give her a hug but she lives in Spain she's been out there about 25 years and she won't come back because she believes she wont get the same level of care over here. My mums brother and sister have property out there but they're not there all the time so I just worry she's feeling alone. |

Oh that's sad big hugs from me my dad had it and my sister who died at 48 best thing you can do is keep in touch with your nan and let her know you are thinking of her. Can you manage to go out to see her. Shame she cant get better treatment over here. Best wishes and good luck x. |

Aw thanks everyone. Going out there isnt really an option just yet, can't get time off till my block leave in july so I could go then. I think my aunt is going over so she wont be on her own for too long. She's a tough old bird, outlived 3 husbands while she's been out there, im trying to stay positive and believe she will kick cancers arse again. I'll call her over the weekend, I was going to call when I got off the phone to my mum but she had gone out, I might need today to let it sink in, I'll probably still cry when I call her! |

"Also, if she says she doesnt want to come back because she might not get the same level of care does sound like shes being well looked after"
She does, they're great out there. The only thing is getting to and from the hospital, costs a fortune in taxis and she has to pay for interpreter as well (you'd think after 25 years that she wouldnt need one!! ) xx |
