Illness, immobility and poverty leading to a lack of motivation to even get out of bed in the mornings.

I really, really don't want to get old and try not to dwell on it as I dread it so much

When ,and if, I get elderly I will have a nice walking stick cut from a hazel from around here.

I shall varnish it and put those nice badges on it to show where I have been.

It will have a chunky bung on the bottom to stop it slipping

But mainly the stick will be for shoving up the nose of anyone who calls me "Love" or "Deary" in that loud patronising way that some think is the way to speak to elderly people.

I have discussed this very recently with a close fab friend, we came to the conclusion that we will probably end up in the same nursing home, sat next to each other pissing our pants, so not much different to how we are now, just a different reason for the pissy knickers!

I do know one thing, if my jobs tough me nothing else its that I do not want to be a burden on my children, I go to peoples houses day in day out and see the stress and pressure put on family's who love their parents and what to keep them at home and look after them themselves but are put under huge amounts of pressure and some make themselves ill as its a 24/7 job, I would sooner be in a home than put my children thro that, I would hate to think any of my children packed up their jobs and put their lifes on hold to look after me
