Okay, I need to know. I’m trying to be healthier in my lifestyle and I understand skincare is a big part of that, so ladies (or men) what is your favourite body wash, something from the supermarket or something more upmarket?

Molton Brown

I only buy on bulk deals from the designer outlets though

Even then, it's £10-£11 a bottle

It does last for a while though, smells great and lingers on your skin for hours

4 bottles should last about 3 months as long as you are using as a shower gel as opposed to a bubble bath

Tom Ford : Oud Wood Shower Gel if I'm feeling I'd like a treat.

Otherwise Baylis & Harding Goodness Oud, Cedar & Amber Bath Soak for day to day usage.

.

Thank you to earlier posters talking about Molton Brown, who I did not know.

They seem to do quite a nice range.

And I found a Molton Brown Discovery Body Care Collection with 10 of their body washes in small trial sizes on Amazon for £21. A good mix of masculine, feminine and unisex scents. At £25.00 a normal 300ml bottle, this is a good way to test a few first. The smaller ones would also be quite handy when overnight staying at a hotel too.

My current favourite is from France and has the scent of orange blossom. It's delicious and I stocked up last time I was over there.

But I always have about 3 or 4 on the go, because I like having a choice.

We use the Le Petit Marsellais shower gels as they have a large variety of lovely pongs. My favourite is the orange blossom.

Mr K doesn't care and would use Fairy liquid if I didn't buy decent stuff!

I'm very partial to the Rituals Mehr foaming shower gel too.

Their "XXL Mint" (seemingly discontinued) was notorious. The sensation was akin to how I'd imagine being sucked off by a very cold polar bear would feel like.

Personally I just buy whatever is on offer; I doubt it makes much difference to how I smell after the deodorant and aftershave have been applied.

Prefer soap bars - bonus if lime scented for the nostalgia. But use whatever is present - currently that's some Dove bodywash (the white one if there are supposed to be multiple)

There's also bodywash in my gym's showers that is like a whitish blue, don't know what brand 😂

Another vote for L'Occitane shower oil. I have dry skin and this is beautiful. Also enjoy Uriage cleansing oil and bioderma shower oil for the same reasons…. But they’re better on the pocket than the L'Occitane.

For a normal body wash type thing then the CeraVe hydrating cleansing wash is nice as is Aveeno skin relief body wash.

If I’m travelling then I’ll take one of the family original source raspberry or similar with me because I buy the ones above in huge bottles which aren’t really travel friendly. I should grab some travel size bottles and decant.

Bar soap from grüum. One for beard/hair, one for body. No plastic. all natural ingredients.

I struggle with the concept of constantly daubing chemicals all over ourselves in the pursuit of physical attraction to others.

I used to buy olive oil soap bars after hearing about only natural ingredients, but got fed up with the physical block.

Personally, I am a big fan of the L'Oreal range, particularly black carbon and white birch. I only tend to buy it when it's on offer. So I'll buy two or three and that'll last me till the next time it is on offer failing. quite like Vaseline range of soaps. I have also been looking at doctor's watch and that type of soap but it seems relatively expensive compared to what I've been spending.

Simonez Car Shampoo 5 litres from Costco. Smells nice. It’s got wax in it so it’s good for the skin and makes my hair shiny. 5l Lasts ages. Get a hand pump applicator cos it’s hard to lift when you have soapy hands in the shower.

It’s alright on the car and when washing the dishes too.

My 10 pack selection of Molton Brown arrived today and I had a smell of them all.

I showered with Coastal Cypress and Sea Fennel. Has a very fresh and light aroma to it. Very pleasant indeed.

.

Neon Amber is next on my list to try.

After that, Flora Luminare, but I have to be in the right mood for scents like that.

.

I won't be using Orange and Bergamot, Fiery Pink Pepper or Rhubarb and Rose. Not to my taste.

.

I have splashed out on a Mesmerising Oud Accord and Gold bath & shower gel as I am bit obsessed with Oud. I know it'll by synthetic oud, but even so

.

Thank you to all the folks contributing your body wash suggestions. Clearly this forum thread is going to ensure my bank balance is under new duress.

.

And to think, young me used to use "Matey". (I think that was a bubble bath, though I barely remember it !)

I really like Method body wash, and they do have a men's line. My personal favorite by then is Simply Nourish, which is coconut, rice milk and Shea butter. I use their lotion too.

Sometimes I buy homemade bar soaps from vendors during farmer's markets.

Tried Molton Brown Mesmerising Oudh Accord & Gold Bath & Shower Gel yesterday and it was most pleasant. It lasted on the skin a whole day for me. Definitely a winner for me.

.

Today I tried MB Flora Luminare. It's more a multi-gender aroma, edging on the lighter end of floral. It's how I imagine a sweet sweet man might smell. Sweet. I like this one too, but not for every day usage.

.

Tomorrow I am toying with either Neon Amber or Coastal Cypress and Sea Fennel (again).

.

I said this thread would spend my pennies and it's certainly doing that. But thanks everyone (for the sensible and serious suggestions anyway).
