This lot seem to have been picked for being even more cocky than any we've seen before.
I get hooked early on and I try and put aside my instant dislikes until after the end of the first task. Performance in the boardroom is the bit I like. |

I suspect that many are chosen not for their Business acumen, but for their televisual status; that is, their geekiness, confrontational styles etc.
In past interviews with Sir Alan in the media, he says the initial group of candidates isn't chosen by him but primarily by a group of people headed up by the BBC.

I am finding it grates more with each series. Maybe I am experiencing a degree of desensitisation to the contestant's story. Either way, not very convincing and a bit of a bitch fest tonight. |

Last night revealed a fair amount of incomeptence - just one example, I could not believe the inability to work out quantities required to make a drink! I found it incredible people went into a place expecting to sell something without having a sample for the buyer. The way people undermined each other when negotiating a price ... the list goes on.
Ok, they are not very experienced but this stuff is basic stuff... how did they get into the shortlist for the Apprentice I muse....  |

The candidates are chosen now because they make good TV and not necessarily the best ones for the job (or investment).
I think the first 2 seasons the candidates were chosen because they would be best for the job and, frankly, they were boring to watch.
Now, it's more about people who can't work together and make good TV viewing.
It it really funny hearing all the bullshit they come out with "I'm the alpha male..."
