"Would anyone like to go for me today please? I've done accounts and admin all morning and now I actually have to teach! "
Depends what it is I need to teach and how easy it would be to fake that I know anything about it! |

"I had a few hours in the garden doing work (and sunbathing) can't be arsed to do gcse chemistry and algebra today. "
Cool, no problem - I'll cover that.
All I need is some Diet Coke, a packet of Mentos and a jar full of coffee beans. |

Its an excellent (and very visual) way to cover catalyzation.
The jar of coffee beans was to encourage them to find a way to guess how many was in the jar without counting them - basically working out volumes and division! |

Yep - I've heard that one before but it works better in a class situation. I tutor one-to-one or small groups. |

Also works with Jelly Beans, but you have to watch out as they eat the results! |

I do chocolate lessons which are where the kids have to sort multicoloured sweets/chocolate and then produce a statistical analysis - that's the one where I have to watch for "anomalies" |
