I did Diet Coke and mentos with some kids last year before making volcanoes with them! |

Its an excellent (and very visual) way to cover catalyzation.
The jar of coffee beans was to encourage them to find a way to guess how many was in the jar without counting them - basically working out volumes and division! |

I do chocolate lessons which are where the kids have to sort multicoloured sweets/chocolate and then produce a statistical analysis - that's the one where I have to watch for "anomalies" |
