I've never tried so many beds in my life in such a short space of time............... and it's not what you may be thinking lol!! I was buying a new mattress......! They make you lie on them.......... ever felt daft in your furry boots and coat!!

But hey did you know the life span of a mattress is about 8 years, no wonder mine had gone to marshmallow (my daughters words not mine!!) and yes I did take some stick about my mattress needed to be changed.........

My question is to fellow forumites, is does swinging lessen the lifespan of your mattress .........

little house on the praire

In a word yes lol. I had a gorgeous bed, it had wooden headboard and bottom board it was my grandma's and really fashionable in an old fashioned way. It was 60 years old and i put a new matress on it and then broke the bleeding framework. Well the state my next mattress got in was an embarressment. Had this bed about a ayear and so far so good lol

We don't swing in our bed either, we like to keep some things for ourselves alone.

Don't know, as I don't have much fun in my house!

I only like very firm/orthopaedic mattresses, whether that makes a difference or not I do not have a clue!
