A wet chicken one that, after boiling for stock and stripping the last of the flesh off, I threw in the bin.

The bin without a bin bag in.

Could be worse, could have been fish stock you were making...

The times I've thrown things into the bin without a bin liner in it!

You think I would have learned to check, or replace the bin liner immediately after removing the old one - but nooooo!

I tend to collect roast chicken carcasses until I have a few to make a big pot of stock/soup in one go.

I boil them for a very long time until they fall apart.

I would strain the stock to get rid of the bones, and wrap them using old newspapers first, before bagging it with a big food bag or two.

Then I would put it in the bin.

That's because you are well organised

This particular carcass was well boiled so was a big, sloppy mess, even after I had extracted all the juicy goodness. Nothing like a good bone broth, even in this weather.

I boil pigs feet along with a few carrots for around 8 hours and make pig trotter jelly. It's fantastic with a little white vinegar...

Anything is nice with vinegar, apart from spunk. That's not nice with anything.

It tastes far better than it sounds. What do people think the jelly in a pork pie is?...

Probably the same that's in the meat filling - and another reason why I don't eat pork pies!

Need to know basis

I've watched my Gran boil chicken throughout my youth....in went the feet, the neck and the full head...and all of it ended on the table to be devoured with great gusto!!

Not much left after that to boil and make jeely of

The jelly is nothing but natural gelatin found in bone marrow. Pretty much the same thing as Rowntrees used for years to make fruit jelly...

One of the best dish I had the pleasure of eating, was a pig’s trotter stuffed with sweetbreads & morels, delicious!

And the pistachio soufflé for dessert was to die for!
