Did meeting a celeb change your opinion of them for the better or worse?
Most of the ones I met in RL were really nice people and so down to earth, dare say sick of folks asking for piccys etc.... ? |

Noel Gallagher told me to 'fuck off' several times when I was a teenager - as did Patsy Kensit and Justine Frishman (Elastica). Although I likely deserved it.
Liam Gallagher on the other hand was lovely. I might have supposed it would have been the other way around. |

Neil Gaiman. Really seemed like a nice guy. He came out of the book signing to sign my wife's books specially as she was in a wheelchair and getting her into the little bookshop was problematic.
I was deeply disappointed by recent reports of his abusive conduct. 😔 |

John Thompson and his wife had a massive domestic at my til when I was doing my Saturday job in the local supermarket (I was about 17) he was clearly in his drinking days and looked hungover as hell. It was soooooo awkward 😬 |

I've met Paul Daniels, Alex Higgins a couple of times, Eamon Holmes, George Best, Terry Griffiths, Dennis Taylor, Derek Dougan, Davy Jones and Steve Collins to name but a few and every one of them were exactly like they appeared and can't say a bad word about them.
The nicest and most pleasant of the lot though was Tony Hart who walked up to me one day to ask directions as he was on holidays with his wife and he said I looked like a reliable source of information.
I chatted for over an hour in Dublin airport once with a lovely elderly gentleman and his daughter who were waiting on his son Robert to fly in. Robert turned out to be Bob Geldof and they introduced me to him and he shook my hand but said he was in a hurry to get home. |

I've met the Author peter Robinson, author of the DCI Banks series. Nice quiet bloke who is always grateful and courteous when having a pre-dinner meal (when met by a blushing female fan) before going into the cinema/theatre next door for his latest book talk. |

"I met Michael Portillo, Steven Seagal and Bonnie Tyler at a dinner party. What happened at that dinner party, stays at that dinner party.
Mrs TMN x"
I reckon creepy Seagal came on to Bonnie and Portillo was the hero she's been holding out for and beat him with his train timetable. |

Ted Danson in New York, was in a rush and asked if he could take my taxi
Danny Davito again in New York picked up on my accent and asked if I was enjoying america (we were sat at neighbouring tables in a restaurant).
Both guys left a positive impact on my day.

Several royals. Princess Diana when my dad was showing her around a new hospital block. I was that kid who's made to hand over a bunch of flowers.
I was made to wear a dress during a tomboy phase for her visit. I was less than impressed with her because of that!

I told Mark Clattenburg he was missing a good game at half time in the tunnel at White Hart Lane as he was reffing. He smiled and we chatted briefly. Later that evening Harry Redknapp, Les Ferdinand and a few others and they were superb.
Gazza but unfortunately he had his well documented problems. Jim Davidson who I liked at the time was a rude twat.
And of course I have fucked all the Spice Girls. |

From time to time I work with people who might be classed as celebrities. For the most part, they have all been professional and polite. Some have even been interesting and fun. Xx |

Kris Akabusi always annoyed the shit out of me, but was one of the most focused, professional and prepared people I worked with- hit most of his lines first time, banged out several tonal variations of key phrases without being asked and exactly as needed, friendly, relaxed and welcoming to all the crew and was in and out with minimal messing about or drama or ego |

Guy Martin - Got to know him pretty well after seeing and chatting to him a few times on the BSB circuit. Lovely guy, talks a million miles an hour, loved the giant mug I bought him
Richard Burns - Him and his Suburu team came for tea at my Sis in Law's pub whilst I was working, he was visiting his Mum who lived locally, so lovely, chatty, polite, happy to mingle. Bought a round for the pub and left a generous tip. I managed to blag his Suburu cap and a kiss
Daniel Craig - I literally bumped into him as he was exiting our local Co-op, wasn't looking where I was going and bumped right into him, he smelt amazing and I looked up and said sorry, he laughed at me and said 'no worries, you looked distracted' I said 'no, just not paying attention' I thought he looked familiar....wasn't until I read in the paper that he was in the area visiting his Dad who lived local it registered 😊
Katie Price - She was in my village staying at the holiday lodge park up the road, very polite and smiley, I asked if she was enjoying her stay and she said she loved the area and was a regular visitor to the holiday park. Rumour has it she was visiting the Derwen College which is a residential educational facility for SEND teenagers

Tiff Needell (him from old school 'Top Gear') - I met him in Le Mans, was expecting him to be up his own arse and full of toff snobbery, but pleasantly surprised; he was just 'one of the boys' for the evening getting off his face and dancing with any and all the women!
...didn't buy me a pint after I'd got him one though! That was bad form!! |

Been lucky enough to be friends and acquaintances with a few gold medal winning oylimpians and world champions or cycling and triathlon.
Having worked at Heathrow airport for a number of year's anyone who works/worked at a busy airport will tell you meeting celebrities is a very common occurrence.
Worked in many celebrities house's but I'd say the most famous was probably Dave Gilmore who was a really nice chap.

I worked in the film and tv industry for a long while and have been lucky to work with some lovely people.
A few horrors though and not who you would think.
Have also been involved in motorsport for years and have good memories with many famous drivers and riders. |

I don't know if they're famous, but I met the band The Sugar Tree when I was out in Derby last Saturday night. They asked for a selfie with me
I only found out who they were when a friend messaged me to say he'd opened Facebook and seen a pic of them with me on their socials |

When I was a kid met Jenny Hanley off Magpie, she was pleasant.
Met a rock star when was a kid, but had no idea, he was visiting his mum and dad, whom I knew.
Had several convos with Billy Bragg, thoroughly decent guy. |

Bettany Hughes was utterly lovely, just the right side of flirty, and, yes, very sexy, part of which was her being very, very clever, as well as deliciously curvy.
Tony Benn was less sexy, but a complete gentleman. |

Also served plenty of Welsh celebs in my time working in pubs/bars in Cardiff. Rhod Gilbert was lovely, Geraint Thomas and his mates drank us out of gin, Charlotte Church is a good laugh, James Dean Bradfield is cool and Joe Calzaghe had bodyguards which struck me as somewhat unnecessary 🤣 |

I go to gigs more often than I'm on fab, so I've met quite a few musicians, and a couple follow me on social media.
Met a few through my old job, including Jason Isaacs (shorter than you think), Pixie Lott (got a pic with her), Jeremy Vine (bit of a knob), Sophie Rayworth, and Martin Shaw. I've bumped into Beharry Johnson and 2 of the SAS guys in London. Royalty, I've met Prince William and seen Queen Rania of Jordan, who is hands down the most magnetic woman I've ever seen. When she walks in a room *everybody* looks at her. |

Matthew Kelly, didn't recognise him and he asked me to let him through the ticket barriers without a ticket so he could exit the station. Being the diligent worker I am, I directed him to the ticket office to purchase a ticket.
Only got told who it was afterwards |

Absolutely angree on the ones I’ve met. Charlotte Church is down to earth and hilarious. Once had to hold her up, because she was so hammered…..at 5pm.
JDB is also very down to earth - a dude.
Calzaghe, erm…..not so much. Likewise, Mark Williams, though I suspect he’s got better.
Bez was lovely, Stewart Lee was nice, Gruff Rhys is a dude.
Met countless rugby players - hard not in South Wales. Most have been ok.
My friend is married to a famous comedian. Saying who would blow my cover, though .

I can’t give away any details. 😁
Let’s just say that Wonder Woman isn’t that wonderful in real life.
But, Keanu Reeves and Chris Hemsworth are both lovely and good fun to be around. 😉

My funniest celeb moment was taking a piss next to Shane Lynch in the men’s room at the NEC, then telling him he’ll have to rub a bit harder if he wanted to wash the tattoos off his hands….
Guy Martin I’ve met a couple of times, he really is totally down to earth, and passionate about the projects he’s taken on. Great craic |

I went to the pub with Fish (ex marillion singer) he was an absolute dude.
Daniel P Carter ( bassist in a band called A, radio presenter), had a drink with him at a jimmy eat world gig, very cool and funny as hell.
Tommy Vance was very gracious when I melted into a moron while chatting to him
Ian Gillan, one of my all time musical heroes was a miserable cunt. |

I used to work at the OC world neR old traffords ground in late 90's and regularly had footballers coming in to but expensive but pretty awful computers.
One day, Anthony Wilson came in. He was the music producer behind almost all bands in the MADchester scene. He was buying a LOAD of MP3 players for his staff and I asked him if he thought MP3s were goung to be popular.
"HUGE, a real game changer" he was correct. |

Due to work and lifestyle I’ve hanged around with plenty. A few of my good friends are successful and renowned for what they do.
In terms of celebrities - They’re just people. disregard anything you think you know about them. You know nothing. Public persona vs private life are two totally different things.
Treat that person as if you’re meeting any other stranger for the first time.
From my perspective, and from the perspective of my friends - It’s actually pretty stressful at times and I’ve had to cut off some of my other friends who did not know how to act around “famous” people.
