This morning whilst out with dog saw what seems like an abandoned car with no tax disc. It has foreign plates lithunaian i believe.
I spoke to police who told me as foreign plates they would not be able to trace owner i asked dvla should have info was told cars with foreign plates are not on dvka database.
I find it bizarre that this is the case.
This is not an anti foreigner or anti europe post. This loophole to me seems to be needing to be looked at. |

So if I can aquire a left hand drive car with foreign plates, I could drive it around with no road tax, and as long as I don't get stopped I'd get away with it? |

If you are a visitor to the UK you can bring your car and drive for up to 6 months in any 12 month period provided you are not a UK resident and don't plan to live here. The vehicle must be registered and taxed in your home country.
There are reciprocal arrangements for UK residents visiting foreign lands, country dependant.
