I'm watching a programme on why sex is pleasurable and they've just looked at the female orgasm.
It's only 20 seconds long (14 seconds longer than a mans). The release of oxytocin helps drive sperm towards the ovary releasing an egg and helps with pair bonding.
They are now showing how the orgasm can affect our behaviour.
Does having an orgasm, or not, affect your behaviour? |

I find if I don't orgasm (not happened in a while tho!!) then I end up feeling weepy or really frustrated and angry!

Totally get that, I have suffered with anxiety long term, but after an orgasm that totally subsides for a while.... it's like the best relaxation ever. Apparently it's due to the release of oxytocin and seratonin, but whatever it is I'll keep it  |

Another "surprise" is that the brain is the most critical part of the female orgasm. It is possible for us to think ourselves into an orgasm. I wonder if that is what is happening when I get an orgasm waiting for the bus? |

Don't think I could just 'think' myself to an orgasm without any stimulation, but in my younger days I definitely thought myself out of having them!
As for how orgasms make me feel, they can put me in a better mood for a few days afterwards - the better the orgasms the longer the good feelings last. If I go for a few days without though I do start to get irritable. I can get a temporary fix with toys, but orgasms from sex have longer lasting effects for me - possibly because I can think back to when I had the orgasm and enjoy the memory too  |

Don't think I could just 'think' myself to an orgasm without any stimulation, but in my younger days I definitely thought myself out of having them!

The kind of reflecting thinking on personal experience, what had been good, what had been better and what had been mind blowing. I guess mind blowing is probably only possible with somebody I know well and who knows all my buttons ?(that is possibly just me though). |
