We received a lovely pm last night from a forum member that will of course remain anon. It basically was a few kind words rgarding a thread we were both involved in.

From that we got chatting and found a new friend, we're not the type to get too excited and see it as groundwork to meet, geographically it would prove difficult but not impossible. That's not an issue we're just happy that we got on very well and that we crossed paths and hold the person(s) in high regard.

What if anything has really been a positive out of using the forums considering distance meant that you were unlikely to chat without this feature being available on Fab due to using it to mainly setting up meets ?

I've experienced exactly the same. And while there are those that I continue to maintain as 'virtual friends' - some knowing we'll never meet, some just logistically difficult to - I've actually met one or two now.

And I've been proved right in my theory that the forums are a great guide to an individuals personality - far more descriptive, interactive and 'fluid' than a profile ever could be (unless updated daily!) and giving a far greater insight into someone.

I've had more new meets via the forums in the last year than via any other feature of the site !

Thank you Fab!!

Truro

we've done a few long distance meets on here as a result of forum interaction.

We live over a 100 miles from the end of the nearest motorway, M5, so most out of county meets for us are long distance.

It can work if you make it work

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

I've met some lovely people through the forums, and not always for sex either.

Same here, you get to know people a little bit through the forums, but actually meeting them is a lovely surprise.

In think some threads would clarify exactly who we wouldn't meet! Sometimes though you do come accross someone with a brain or train of thought we find more interesting!

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

It's the thing I like most about the forum. I have met some people socially and love that they are all as mad as a box of frogs.

By the same token, rising to threads which we can be accused of at times also puts people off. But we like many have our opinions and beliefs so crossing swords can be inevitable and by that true reflections of personalities may prove wrong where meeting in person being yourselves would soon turn things around.

Thing is in your situation Jack/Kate Cornwall is one of those areas many visit and through that you could get folk visit.

We agree with mileage not being a concern and where thwere's a will there's a way. Also totally agree with you Wyrdwoman, sex may not be the be all and end all. It is what it is, que sera sera.

Likewise, tho have only had one meet as a result of the forum (so far!) but a lovely guy and I hope one I can count as a friend.
