No, View and Jodie, not that kind!

I've just bought a tent and am returning to camping after about ten years away from it. Actually I'm going glamping with a lovely bell tent and have the obligatory bunting lanterns et al.

Suddenly all my kids and a couple of friends are interested in sharing this fun with me ...... I hope they remember that not every site supports hairdryers and straighteners.

How many others of you go camping and would any of you recommend some favoured campsites that allow tents, and dogs?

If you check out the Wales forum we have a Fab camping weekend June 21st in Wales....there is also an organised weekend in Norfolk and the Swingfest too.

I enjoy glamping too with a medieval pavilion canvas tent and all the trimmings with a four poster bed and wood burning stove too.

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

I love camping, but always take my camping chair and bed roll. Knees are too old for sitting on the ground. Looking forward to seeing how many people fit in my tent at Swingfields.

Woohoo! thank you I shall check it out, looks like I and my friends are going to have lots of fun. Just hope the kids don't mind us buggering off without them if it's a swinging weekend.

Camping at the moment, a bit windy but lovely views.

Wine is flowing, nowhere to go... Can't beat it!

Once upon a time I used to have all the equipment and tour Europe in the summer months.

I don't know how I'm going to react to the rain and the midges of Scotland.

It almost always rained at Loch Tay and Coylumbridge was hoachin with midges. When thereI got bitten so badly a couple in the neighbouring tent gave me some anti-bite cream ... I was allergic to that and reacted badly. My face resembled a well-kicked football for days!

There's a pair of ducks and several chickens running around, fantastic views of the river Oose and many boats passing through.

Just how a weekend should be spent.

At the moment due to ill-health I can only go about two hours drive without over tiring myself so will be restricted to Scotland for the next few months. xx
