Should there be a pan sexual option on here?

There must be a few pan people on here where gay/bi/straight doesn't cut it.

Any thoughts?

I genuinely don't understand how pansexuality differs from bisexual, especially not in any practical sense.

It's a sexual orientation, it's not meant to be practical.

"Looking for" is the practical information.

Wherever I lay my hat.

I think all cooking utensils deserve their special place. Even more, I think the stainless steel pans need their own place separate from the aluminium pots and pans too.

I haven’t even started on Teflon yet….

There's more combinations of genitals and genders than just the usual binary. I'm pansexual. I don't care if someone is a man with a vagina, a woman with a dick or any other combination. If there's a connection and attraction, I'm good to go.

I class myself as bi, as a definition I do lean more towards the pansexual tendencies but it's easier to explain bi than it is pan. I prefer the bi colours to the pan colours too 🩷💙💜

Only women don't have dicks and men don't have vaginas, by definition.

Dictionary description of a pansexual - sexually or romantically attracted to people regardless of their sex or gender.

Dictionary description of a bisexual - sexually or romantically attracted to both men and women, or to more than one sex or gender.

Can you spot the difference? No? There isn't one. People who call themselves pansexual are bisexual people who want to appear special.

Carlisle usually

Sometimes I think it would be useful to just split it a little bit.

Visually attracted to Femme / Masc / Other

Happy to engage sexually with Penis / Vagina / Other

Pansexual is for people who tend to think that etymology is the only basis for language and its definition. Basically it was brought about because someone thought that bi was transphobic (it’s not). Bisexuality has never excluded other genders, pansexual doesn’t mean you fancy everyone. It’s basically the same thing but; semantics, and internet people have too much time on their hands

That's actually really transphobic and condescending.

"I genuinely don't understand how pansexuality differs from bisexual, especially not in any practical sense. "

A pansexual is attracted to humans regardless of what ever variation of the many genders there are.

A bisexual is attracted ONLY to either of two genders.

e.g. a bisexual will be attracted to a man or a woman.

a pansexual will be attracted to :- a man, a woman, a gay man, a gay woman, a transexual, a transvestite, a straight person , a bisexual person , a pansexual person, an hermaphrodite , a lady boy and uhmmmmm any more you might think of. 'Pan' is the key here. Bi is the key in the word bisexual.

This is what I was going to put, can't make it more clearer.

Gender has no role in who I am attracted to I would never dismiss anyone due to how they identify it's the person the personality and chemistry that gets me turned not the gender or if they have dicks or pussy or did have one and not.

I'm not being special at all I like everyone for who they are.

Bi sexual to me is that they like men or women only.

Pansexual is they like everyone.

Not matter how you identify, you either have a vagina or a penis, so by that logic it would fit into the bisexual description in the dictionary. People are attracted to someone regardless of the physical characteristic they have.

Reading

The term bisexual is not transphobic. The definition of bisexual is attraction to more than one gender and does not exclude trans people. It offends me when others claim differently.

There should be a lot of changes to sexuality options. It's been a constant request for years.

Never going to change. If it's not broke don't fix it...

Woman with a dick here. I didn't choose it, I don't want it, I have to wait in a very very long queue to put that right. In the meantime all I ask is acceptance. If the NHS can say I'm a woman - and you can see my smear test reminder letter if you don't believe me - I'm sure you can do it too.

The term isn't transphobic and most bi people aren't transphobic. Some though....

I highly recommend Gordon Ramsay's Hex Clad pans, they really are worth the money.

Also, if I have to Google someone's sexuality, I know instantly that they aren't for me.

No. It wouldn't fit into the bisexual description unless the entire human race was cis.....

Gender/sexuality has not been black and white or 1 and 2 or A and B since time immemorial, though denied, and for decades in a more open society.

A bi sexual woman for e.g. might not enter into a relationship with someone who has transed from one gender to another and vice versa.... a bi sexual male might not be attracted to a woman who began life as a male...

A pansexual would consider both of these as their primary criteria is the person.

This isn't true - pansexuality is an exonym, originally used to describe people in the gay scene who didn't seem to care what gender anyone else was. This was then adopted by people who wanted to emphasise that gender is not an important component of their sexuality.

Identifying as bisexual is not transphobic, and believing that has never really formed a basis of what pansexuality means for most people.

Just because you have a penis and think you're a woman and I don't think you're a woman but a trans woman doesn't make me transphobic, Kay.

I also don't think I'm being condescending, just stating my opinions.

One of the few times we disagree, Granny. I definitely am attracted to (trans) women who by definition began life as a male but I still maintain pansexual is just bisexual with bells. I could insist people call me a gynosexual but again, that's just a bisexual with extras.
