Hi all, just wondering what the lovely people of fab do to socialise with others accompanied by their significant other?
I'm not talking about anything lifestyle related, just events where you and your partner will attend and possibly engage in conversation with people not already in your social circles.

"Yes we attend lots of social events together, there's no intention other than a good night out with & chatting to others.
Mrs "
I was asking to find out what sort of social events. We go to gigs and restaurants but there's not too much scope to engage with others if that makes sense.

We run and made a circle of friends around that. We joined a running club and that along with oarkrun we socialise a bit after running etc.
But neither of us are overly social and since the pandemic/lockdowns I have forgotten what a dinner party is, after loving hosting them for years! but we go for meals out etc sometimes. |

We used to go to a local venue that held dinner events with entertainment. People were seated randomly so we interacted with whoever we sat with both individually and as a couple. Unfortunately the events stopped. |

Is that like a dinner and dance thing?

A variation of. One evening was wine pairing so we had two different wines with each course and the vineyard owner talked us through them. Another was opera and a very accomplished soprano entertained us. Things like that. It was an excellent way to meet new and interesting people and I have to say it, some crashing bores

Bars in small towns.
Old fashioned pubs/country pubs where you can actually have conversation with others without loud music blasting.
Music gigs in small venues so you can easily mingle.
We are really sociable and will talk to anyone so find it fairly easy to strike a conversation up. |

Also murder mystery nights are good as you always chat to others to try and solve 'who dunnit'. |

Coffee shops are good for that too. |

"I always think it's a bit weird striking up a conversation with a stranger other than at lifestyle events. Must be the londoner in me.
"
Really? We're always chatting to people in various places. |

"I'm not sure I want to socialise much with new people outside of the swinging scene with either of my partners.
Normal people are weird. 🤷♂️😂😂"
True story.
I met this really weird guy when I was having breakfast with a friend a while ago |
