"What's your go to drinks order when you go to a coffee shop?
Is cake included in this order?
"
Usually an Americano with a dash of milk. I find milky coffees to filling.
Cake is always there as a option, muffin, flapjack or caramel slice. |

I like to vary it but usually either a flat white or a pourover. I also recently tried something called a split shot recently which is an espresso and a cortado which was great!
For cake, it will probably be a lemon drizzle or something really chocolatey. The coffee shop I go to also does these warm, gooey cookies 🤤 |

I despise the inherited American coffee shop business model. All that banging and creams and syrups, being upsold some shite you don’t want ! I stick with independents and normally it’s a n espresso with a drop of warm milk. I love being in Spain where it takes 30 seconds to get a coffee versus 5 minutes in the UK. |

Black Americano.
Also cake? Do you think this is 2010? Have you seen the price of a coffee shop cake in 2025 against a back drop of a rising living cost and stagnating wages over the last decade.
Maybe just a slice of imagination cake for me.

"Black Americano with a Raspberry Slice from Costa.
Today I had a first - I was introduced by a lovely friend to Affogato "
Affogatos are incredible! Whenever we go for Italian food it's always a tough choice between that and tiramisu for dessert. |

Nothing prepared me for it Joe. I have to be honest here, I thought I added the ice cream to the coffee 😂 but my lovely friend guided me otherwise. It was so nicely served too. Much like you, I was a little indecisive and wanted a hot drink but thought in for a penny.
I was not disappointed at all and think I'd have that and a hot one next time. Lol |

Don’t tend to visit them often as I don’t drink coffee and I really don’t like the tea in Starbucks. But if I do it’s always tea, sometimes a cake will factor; maybe a lemon drizzle if it looks moist, brownie or millionaires shortbread |

I had that the other day (in Sheffield) whilst I was dining alone at a Pizza Express™. Bourbon vanilla ice cream, strong espresso, served with a shot of hazelnut liqueur. It was heavenly on my palate. |

I've only just started drinking coffee 3 or so years ago so the above and Irish Coffee are delights that I have only just started enjoying. And man, are they incredible tasting. |

I get a latte - I like the texture of the foam. Occasionally I’ll get cake and that depends on where I am. Costa would be their millionaire shortbread or rocky road. There’s a lovely place by me that does amazing brownies and it depends on what’s in as to what I’ll go for. Chocolate orange was a high point!

Always a large black Americano.
Usually a pain au chocolate but it depends what's on the counter. Chocolate brownie a common second choice.
I prefer Caffe Nero to Costa and like exploring independents in new places I visit. |
