seeing the Avro Vulcan Bmk2 bomber fly
Sadly this may well be the final year she is able to take to the skies, but have got at least two more occasions to see her, one in June and the other in July.
She really is a sight to behold |

I was based at Waddington in the late 70's and we had four squadrons of Vulcans there.....now that was an incredible sight (and sound) to behold, seeing them take off, one after another, especially when some of them did the 90 degree vertical lift....stunning to see such a huge aircraft do a 90 degree turn and shoot vertically into the sky - almost orgasmic |

I go to airshows through out the year and always remember 2 years ago at the riat at fairford we had the vulcan on the runway ready for take off then the b52 flew directly overhead then when both had displayed they taxied down the runway together. It was one of those moments everyone went silent and just appreciated the moment. |

The boys at Bruntingthorpe are working on getting a Lightening airworthy. It would have been awesome to see a Vulcan, Victor, Valiant and Lightening fly together... |

I saw her when she first got back up into the air because of the Vulcan to the Sky campaign.... and on the same day, after her initial flight they had her flying immediately above the Lancaster Bomber from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. I was totally gobsmacked to see that the Vulcan and Lancaster had the same wing span. |

Remember the Vulcan with the Olympus (Concorde) engine in the pod underneath, the noise on the almost vertical climb, superb plane. |
