Ok so we have had a few complaints from neighbours regarding the bass from my speakers lol !!
My question is, if i put them on a couple of small concrete slabs will this actually isolate them and stop the bass or is it a myth ??
They are already on spikes but obviously this isnt doing a good enough job 
Sensible tips and help please lol !  |

We do and we have but one of them is being very obstructive, we thoroughly respect our neighbours but this one is just being a dick lol |

Even on small concrete slabs won't muffle the bass. The vibrations will still travel through the structure of the house/flat. |

I use rubber blocks on my stereo speakers, the type that is used under heavy machinery. For my guitar amps I use a power attenuator, but that won't help with your stereo... |

Thanks guys I think i may downgrade for now and get some small bookshelf speakers for now.
I love my music and since fitting the new soundcard it sounds amazing but i want to be bale to enjoy the full benefit, so either downgrade or move lol !! |

I'm in the same situation. Live on the ground floor flat and the people above may as well be living in my space. I very rarely play music now as most of it needs to be played at a volume necessary to drive the speakers.
I need to move too. |

Try some of the foam used in some flight cases (the dense aerated almost solid type, not the soft pick & pluck)
Also look out for the acoustic foam used in recording studios (it has a rippled surface) which you can sit behind your speaker to help subdue the bass reflex..... Easiest way to fix it is turn the bass down and complain every time moody neighbour makes a noise |
