A good post 
Can I also add an RIP to the 7 civilian air crew killed on Monday when their aircaft stalled on departure from Bagram air base.
'Thankfully' the aircraft was carrying military equipment out of Afghan and not lads n lasses on their way home. |

Couldn't agree more with the sentiments of this post. My brother is currently mid way through his 5th trip to Afghanistan, there's been a constant fear of him not coming home for the last 7/8 years |

Tens of thousands killed daily ?
There may be a hint of exaggeration there.
Civilian losses are a bi product of warfare.
That makes the loss no less tragic and by the same token the loss of a soldier does not detract from them.
This thread isn't about political point scoring or illegal wars, it is about respecting those that choose to serve us by either military or civilian means and have their lives cut short as a result. |

Half a million Iraqi children died every year as a result of the sanctions imposed on there country by the allied forces I'm sorry but that's the truth I'm not looking to score any kind of points, I'm strongly against all wars and don't like to see any one killed or injured, but think its important to remember the allied forces aren't the only people being injured and killed |

Our country has its problems but our armed forces are something we shoukd feel proud about and they deserve utmost respect and those who serve us should be looked after financially physically and mentally and not get served with redundancy upon doing the tours. |

I didn't find it offensive, it simply detracted from the sentiment of the thread imho.
I am anti-war myself but I will still stop and respect those that serve us when I need to, saving my moral and political sentiment for wider discussions. |
