Terms of endearment or insults veiled as nicknames or outright insults…
I find on fab, the name calling covers a wide range. Today alone i’ve had gorgeous and idiot.

My mates are always referred to by insult unless the stuation requires decency. C is always my nickname for her. As a carer, my service users are referred to in a half polite half endearing way depending on the individual.

Nope. I call people by their given names, nor more, no less.

Mrs DS *might* be referred to on occasion with an affectionate non-name. However, whatever I may call her, I'll deliberately avoid using the possessive "my" in front of it. I had an epiphany one day and thought "my" doesn't sit right with me for various reasons. We both dropped usage of it. |

Online I've had pretty much everything, and they've got a whole new list of insults since I came out lol
I get misgendered (dude, mate, buddy etc) very rarely in real life, mostly it's "luv" or "sweet".
To my kids I'm Glitter Mom and their biological mom is Goth Mom.
I'm fine with things like slut, whore etc in the bedroom unless I get the feeling they actually mean it lol |

I usually only use terms of endearment sarcastically.
The only person I use nicknames for widely and enthusiastically for is my dog. He gets all the names and even when they're not positive they are also said with affection. |

I was unceremoniously messaged by a new account saying I need to get over myself, that I'm fat, have a huge belly and don't have the decency to post face pics cos I must look like a dog.

That is awful, abusive and uncalled for and I hope it did not harm you, because that was the intent.

Nope I'm fine. Just laughed and reported since account was 6 days old. No way should someone like that even have a profile here.
I'm aware I'm not everyone's cup of tea, but not everyone is mine either. Decent people scroll on and don't throw abuse at people. It's got to be a sad life if that's what someone does to make themselves feel good... |
