I love the way patois has majorly influenced language particularly in London. So funny. But same for Arabic in the modern day. Hearing kids saying wallahi makes me smile |

Solo travelling for women in general I imagine is very daunting.
I’ve only ever been with family to be fair. And I’m very fortunate in that sense to have family from Jamaica 🥰🥰 |

I have only been to Jamaica once (and really enjoyed it) but I have travelled solo 12 times round The Gambia and Senegal. The issue is that just by looking at me everyone can immediately tell I'm a solo female tourist ! |

I imagine there’s lots about that I don’t get.
I know though in those countries there’s a lot of sex tourism and I imagine there’s a lot of people trying to take advantage of that with people that are actually just there to enjoy a holiday. But it’s great that you’ve not let it stop you. |

Don't really rate the rum, there are better offerings from other islands... (got to bring in some island pride)
Oh I fricking love festivals. So so much. And do you know black cake? My grandma used to make it for us at Christmas time (she loathed the Christmas pudding from the other side). I miss that. |

Unfortunately though, between there and Trinidad, it's probably the worst of the carribean islands and would never advise anyone to go over some of the much nicer ones. I say that with a heavy heart. |

Cool Runnings is considered a Christmas film in our house (there’s snow!)
Spice- pretty much any song but So Mi Like It
Charly Black- Gyal You’re a Party Animal

Beenie Man- pretty much any song but Dude, Who am I, Rum and Red Bull, Girls Dem Sugar are all classics for me.
Damian Marley- pretty much anything
PATTIES- Grandad’s Tastee Patties in Birmingham are insanely good- Beef and cheese please
My favourite thing to cook is brown stew chicken, rice, fried dumplings
Guinness Punch and Sorrel (not exclusively Jamaican but still..) at Christmas
