The cassette, was the only way of making your own recordings and sending it to the record labels, both big or small at an affordable cost. This was the era where analogue and digital were staring each other out: face to face like a pair of pre-fight boxers. It will be a long time before we see another decade like that. | |||

I will say from a personal perspective in my lifetime I have found all of the 20th century superb and the vast majority of the 21st very poor.
