I think men are more likely to look at winks than women because if they're inundated with messages, then they'll probably see winks as low effort.
Personally, I state in my profile to wink if they're interested because not all women like messaging first and I don't like wasting time curating messages with no response. At least if they wink me, I know there's interest there to feel confident making contact  |

When I see them I look. Because I don’t get very many, and because it’s not very obvious when I have one, I tend to miss them. But I don’t mind the method of contact and I’ll respond if I like their profile. |

Because in my experience nearly all of my 'engagements' have been instigated by incoming messages. I place a significantly lower emphasis on winks. |

Never. Or friend requests. Occasionally I’ll click on it just so the numbers disappear of my home page.
It’s the only reason I deal with/get rid of messages. I hate seeing the number and knowing it’s something I’ve not dealt with |

Used to, but now don't bother.
Find them pretty useless, if someone winks us and we wink back, the etiquette is to follow up with a message right?
Often find alot of people who have no intention of meeting use them. Most who are active aren't afraid to shoot their shot and message! |

We use winks to show our interest. If we get one back we then message. If you wink us and we wink back that’s your green light to send us a message. Seems however that most people don’t send a message or don’t use winks the way we do

I think this is it. My experience is that it's mainly couples who view out of ninja mode and wink.
You clever bunch you, preying on vulnerable people like me with those tactics. |
