It's not pretentious or chic or anything untoward. It's just a gesture of goodness and a non-tactile way of giving friendly 'affection'.
Sometimes I give my Aunt Effy an air kiss. It's quite endearing. 🩶 |

I think it's pretentious. It's like the giver thinks they should give a little sign of affection but they are so superior to our that they couldn't possible give a quick peck on the cheek, after all you are not worthy of actual affection from them, you peasant.
Not a fan of it, its the equivalent of offering a fuest a cuppa and tgen just giving them an empty cup because they arent worthy of a real beverage, Mrs x |
