For me, this was never just "Dry January"—I had to stop for my physical and mental health.
A month in, the changes are real—better sleep, weight dropping, clearer head—and there's no way I'm going back.
Anyone else start with Dry Jan but now feel like this is a longer-term shift? Would love to hear your experiences! |

it’s good that you have felt the benefits from dry January  myself I’m not a big drinker anyway & the last time I had a drink was on Black Friday when I was out last & I haven’t had a drink since I don’t look for it even |

Great stuff OP. Positive. I never partake in any of that stuff to be honest. There is always something going on which I like to relax to; Jan- Burns' night, Feb- 6 Nations, Mar/Apr I'm usually away on a small break and it goes all the way through the calendar so I don't hold myself to things I know I will break. I do love a challenge though and have (through work reasons) gone a year without booze, fasted for Ramadhan etc and these have had enormous benefits, so fucking well done. |

Think this is the first year in years I haven't done dry January!
It's great if you feel better go for it.
I feel way happier I haven't dieted or done veguanary or dry January or anything that's changing.
I do feel loads better that January has less chaotic and less partying. |

20 years cigarette free went from 40 a day to zero, last pack I bought was £4.40 for 20 B&H 😂

I enjoy a drink, probably drink too much in an average week, have done for 30 years, but I too have done dry January, and I feel amazing. So good in fact, I'm not straining for a drink when the clock strikes 12 tonght.
I feel like it's the start of a journey for me.
I'm not saying I'll stay sober for the rest of my life, but there's definitely a shift coming.

I'v lost relationships because of it and have an estranged one with my daughter.
